Thread: Um, Volvogga? Stupid question...

Sorry to bother you, but is there a thread around here to notify people of torrents they might be interested in? I'm thinking about a current torrent for Petite Princess Yucie, complete and fan-subbed, but I also think that might be a useful thread topic for other people that find torrents they like. Thank you for you time.

Lol. No there is not a thread. This is actually the support forum for the usage of BitTorrent and IRC (actually in our rules I asked that unless it's an absolute necessity, you don't even tell me what your downloading when asking for help), so that kind of thread, I'd really rather not have. While it's a good idea, it's not for this section. If I start that up, I'm going to be having a war deleting illegal software torrents and stupid shit like that every day. -__-

Hrmm... where would this go though. My first thought is Download Requests, but Digi has a rule about "No Review/Recomendation threads", and that is kinda what your idea is. You might be able to do it in Misc. Series, but even then, that's a little iffy...

Tell ya what, PM Digital_Eon and ask her what she thinks of such a thread in Download Requests. She doesn't like PMs very much, so tell her that I asked you to PM her and link her to this thread if you want.

Depending on her answer, you can ask Martyr3810 if he would take such a thread in Misc. Series.

I kinda like the idea, but Download Requests in general is kinda serving the purpose of the thread your requesting, however in your idea, it allows people to request seeds, as it deals specifically in torrents. Then again, to ask for seeds, you might have to make a thread for each torrent.

Maybe a whole new section for Torrents could be usefull, but that seems REALLY excessive.

Anyway, ask Digi what she thinks.

If anyone else has some ideas on this topic, go ahead and post them. Depending on Digi's answer, how this thread goes and developes, I might kick it over to Feedback so it get's more attention.

Ok, thanks a lot. Didn't think a thread like I'm talking about should go here ( support section ), but thought you might know where and if. And anyone that liked a character from Crest/Banner of the Stars would probably give a civil answer. I liked both so much, I bought the English versions when I stumbled across them a couple of years ago. Someday, I'll torrent. Be interesting how many people will download.

Dude, I don't mind PMs asking if it's okay to create a thread in my sections. =P I dislike PMs requesting a certain anime/manga, which should be a thread of its own.

But, since I'm here already...

A topic for helping people find torrents that they've been looking for, or a topic that just posts new anime available on torrent, and people download? Whether that's a request or a kind of download thread... either of those would be fine by me in Download Requests. There are similar threads to it, aren't there? I wouldn't think of it as a recommendation or review thread; the former are usually along the lines of "I like [Insert Manga Title Here], can you recommend anything like it", while review threads tend to spark manga discussion.

So, um, go ahead.

I don't expect it to be too active, but one person did jump right on it. I'll add more "torrent posts" myself, from time to time, especially if someone is looking for content. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
