Thread: azureus NAT/firewall problem, need some help

ok, im going to be pretty stright foward, problem with my azureus, is that my firewall/NAT on the bottom (people that have azureus should know what im talking about) is always red, and it goes yellow only some times, and green, if im lucky get to see it like once every 3 months >.<

i know i know, go read the wiki help faq right? already did, im not blocking my azureus.exe, but im just not gettting what i have to do, i pretty sure i have done evething that the site told me too, but im still getting downloading problems, can anyone spare some of thier time to help out?

What TCP/UDP port are you using? The default one should be changed, if you haven't already.

Double click the NAT icon, and it should open the option screen showing the port number, and a wiki page with a link to test different port numbers, and suggested port numbers.

i know about that, thats one of the first things i do when i install azureus.

i disabled my firewall and opened ports for it and it worked..... but it had a yellow or a red dot and still worked...

nowadays i cant even use azereus since my new internet connection crashes the router same thing happens wit bitspirit and stuff ... only bittorrent works :/

It is more router/NAT-friendly than most BT clients.

i think the Azureus webbie has a whole FAQ on how to get downloads to go to Blue status (not green), i tried it once a while ago and it worked (not great but it was an improvement) but since reinstalling it ive forgotten how to do it... search on the azureus website you should be able to find it cuz youre not the only one with this tech annoyance.

Go to you control panel and your Secrutity System then Click Windows FireWall go to Exceptions then Add a PORT put BOTH UDP and TCP and if you have a router go to 192.168.1.1 and congifure it there <<<<Is for linksys(im not sure if its for other routers to) you should chnge your Port Number befor you do this

I have some questions about azureus... and since I didn't want to make a whole seperate thread for them, I'll post them here.

1) What's it matter if the client is firewalled or whatever?
2) What's it matter if you have a decent rating for dl :: ul?
