    Default Azureus Question

whenever i open azureus and i want to download more than one file at a time it seems i can only dl 2 or 3 with the program simultaenously. i want to dl at least.. four or five at a time even at the cost of bandwidth speed. i love the seeding options with the program (unlike Bitcomet which seems to be geared for DL only not full on seeding) and i dont want to switch back to bitcomet again but i might have to considering i can do at leas ten to fifteen simultaneous downloads with Bitcomet. is there a way to make Azureus dl more than two files at a time and stop putting things in queue?

Or, if you don't want to do that all the time, go to tools, options, Queue, and change the max active torrents and and max simultaneous downloads to 0, which is unlimited.

did that but is there a way to keep that many torrents active and not have slug-on-heroin kinds of speeds?

I think it's something to do with the way Azureus whores resources. I haven't heard of anyone who constantly does more than 3 torrents with Azureus. Good luck though bro.
Dear cousin choppitychop89, you were a good relative, though I hardly knew ye.

Azureus uses Java, that's why it uses a lot of resources...

Well i usually have more then 3 downloads on and it goes 200+kbs each(not always tho mostly because of seeders) but if you are talking about your pc speed for me it doesn\t really make a difference how many downloads i have on, the semi laggy state of my pc stays the same.

see im a multitasking man, on bitcomet i ROUTINELY have 25+ torrents running simultaneously and i get decent download speeds (IMO, but im just a patient person, dling something for two months doesnt bother me) so the be all end all, should i stick with bitcomet and try to seed ONLY with azereus by copying the torrent laterally across the programs or should i use azureus or bitcomet exclusively?

Well if you don't mind your pc being a litle slugish ( I have 512 ram and it doesn't bother, + my pc stays open all night) then i say go for azureus it's the best one out there imo.

To get the performance you want you're going to have to do some serious tweaking of settings. I used to run around 10 .torrents in Azureus. Now I mostly use µTorrent and do around 5 at a time. Of course you can do up to 20 easily, provided you adjust the settings for running .torrent, peer connections, and cache. µTorrent would probably be a good choice for you.
