Thread: How to download using IRC.

Ok, need a little help in requesting files over irc. Its gerusama's irc channel.
I've gotten into it and even requested for the file i wanted as instructed on their website which was to type msg mithra chan #x with the episode i wanted. However, after that, nothing happens and no one says anything.
So what else do i have to do?

The format is probably (assuming this is a bot) '/msg botname xdcc send #x' (replace botname with Mithra-chan and X with the number of the file you want off of the list) without the quotes of course.

If you go back a page in this thread, CPR (Coolpuprocks) has a list of download commands for you to use. Copy her post and print it out untill you get the hang of it.

For other commands, go here and print that out. Very helpful list.

thanks for that. it finally worked after a few tries! Last time, I had left the quotes on so thats probably why it didn't work

my client keeps timing out and I can't download anything even though I have *.rar files ignored for ES21. Any suggestions?

After i changed my Local ISP .. The Hell Starts!!
at the begining i can't log in to the server because i'm (k-linked?)
this was solved later
now i can log in any server & any channel i want normaly
but ..... can't do any dcc .. not xdcc nor fserv .. sniff
always (Unable to connect) .. is it my ISP ???

There isn't anything about passwords in it.. >.>
I use Download Accelarator Plus, and everytime I try to download manga it says "Autentification Required" but when I try to log in using my username and password, it's not accepted.

I have two questions concerning IRC. I am using mIRC client in assessing IRC channels. While I was downloading files, I made a mistake. The file I was downloading was already finished. A notice appreared saying, "you can't resume the transfer at a point greater than the size of the file." In order to correct this what I did was I cancelled the download. Afterward, I started downloading another file but another notice appeared like "You have DCC pending, set your client to receive the transfer( 150 seconds until timeout )." How do I completely cancel the download to start another download? Is there a command to do this? Can this be considered as "Hammering"?

You have rar files ignored, you cant download it if you have it ignored lol, turn the ignore off from options -> dcc

Just post that in your IRC client's window.

I doubt, probably firewall or a setting, maybe you have wrongs ports in set in your settings? you should try check that.

Uh, this has nothing to do with IRC, you are not allowed to use download accelerators here, you might or not get banned (depends if any mod sees this), just DONT use it, you cant and it will get you banned.

Depends if you are downloading from XDCC or Fserv, for fserv, try messaging the bot "clr_queue N" (replace N with a number for the download you want off)

For XDCC, try "/msg <botname> XDCC remove"

Those should work, if not try
/msg <botname> XDCC help
/ctcp <botname> help

You should be able to find out how to remove yourself.
