If this ever happens or not, how well do you think Guts would do as the leader of an army compared to Griffith, both before and after his transformation? I got this thinking back what everyone in the old band agreed to before the eclipse.

It's crazy to think that Guts would be able to take on Griffith's entire army on his own or with the help of his little band of followers, so I've also believed for a long time now that Guts would slowly build a following of people to rise against Griffith. He already has a powerful magician, extremely skilled tactician, daughter to the most politically powerful family in the land, Prince of an entire country (who also happens to be in charge of a powerful naval fleet) on his side. Next up, gaining allies in Elfheim?
Obviously Griffith's army is stronger than any human army could be, but they'll prevail somehow even though they'll most definitely make huge sacrifices.
Sorry, but I don't like the word "army" in this situation with Gutts. It's not an army, they are not obeying, they are not forming ranks and Guts isn't the tactician.
It looks more like a loose band of people with completely different view on the world. So it's more an anarchical band than an army (army is per definition anti-anarchical and hierarchical). Just wanted to add this.
Leaders aren't normally tacticians, they usually have advisors for that sort of thing. In Guts' case it would be Serpico and Roderick too if they ever have to fight on the sea.
Of course they're not forming ranks yet, they don't have an army yet. We're talking about the possibility of Guts forming a makeshift army with allies in the future, for the inevitable battle against Griffith and the new Band of the Hawk. With one prince and two members of the Vandimion family on his side, there definitely the possibility of something like that happening.
Yeah, that's not what I wanted to deny. It's just that word "army" that sounds so unlike Guts.
Why? He is the former raid leader of the Band of the Hawk. Oh and on a note, the thought of Guts forming allies to take on Griffith seems like a great possibility to me, I feel like is was sort of alluded to when Guts met one of the only survivers of his raid team recently.

well i think that Guts isn't thinking of forming an army or anything like that.but when the main showdown acours hell leave his companions and Caska some where and go strait on Grifit and his apostols, and whenhis gang finds aut whats hapend they l do anything to help
him so it'll probably them bringing an army to aid Guts who'll take command of it.you get the point.
When did he meet someone from his old raid team? The only one he met that's recognized him reasently is one of the Midland nobel's who didn't dislike/hate the hawks, but respected them. Haven't seen any old raiders.
The army idea really have merits, but how he will find one will be the question. And where, but that I'll leave up to others too theorise about. As the Vandemonium I'd say have thrown their lot with Griffith, atleast for now. Same for the other countries who go with "God".
I can see the Bakiraka joining Guts later tho, fighting against the different demon powers.
Guts doesn't have the personality and presence to galvanize many people at the same time as Griffith (even before Griffith changed). I think the biggest difference between him and Griffith lies in personality. Personally, I think Guts is a very strong person mentally and physically and has some great traits that make him an excellent leader, but those trait s don't manifest itself immediately. However, it is clear that they are there since he has a following of people. But all those that follow him, he won over bit by bit. Guts is the type of leader that touches people at an individual level with Farnese, Ishi, and even Serpico as examples.
On the other hand, Griffith is the type of leader who galvanizes hordes of people at the same time with his overwhemling presence. Gut's presence isn't as striking as Griffith's, besides being very, very intimidating. He's really dirty and bloody most of the time, and very scarred in lots of places. On the other hand, Griffith is very clean, and exceptionally handsome. I would say that 80% of Griffith's leadership power lies in his overwhelming charisma.
I so think Griffith is ultimately more capable to leading than Guts simply by charisma alone.
Guts could lead
