Thread: Relationship between Guts and Griffith

For Guts it’s clear, I think.
1. friendship till the eclipse,
2. hatred after eclipse.

But what’s with Griffith? He is more difficult, since he never speaks about his feelings, he seems cold, but you can feel, that he has got some feelings towards Guts (even after the eclipse!).
What do you think, what are Griffiths feelings towards Guts like …
1. … before the eclipse?
(was it friendship? did he only want to use him? was he even in love with Guts?)
2. … after the eclipse?
(a kind of forced indifference? a real indifference, since Guts is so “low” now? sill friendship? love? regret?)

Would like to hear your opinions!

Anyone here think that Griffith might have feelings that were a bit more than friendship?

He tells Gutts "I want you", not "join me". I always thought this was quite interesting.
Then Gutts asks if he's "homo" to which Griffith just looks a bit awkward but doesn't actually say anything.
Then when he gets beaten by Griffith, Gutts says (I'm paraphrasing a bit here) "I'll join you or be your partner or whatever you want."

I think Griffith has some other feelings for Gutts.
He's a total bishounen, he looks like a girl, and he's accepted money to have sex with another man. Who knows how many times he's done this?
He even walks up to Gutts totally naked in one scene, sitting around, talking to him like that. Not necessarily gay, but....

And when he rapes Caska....I wonder who's he's really getting back at? Maybe both of them, but I got the feeling it was directed more at Gutts...

So as you mentioned, I think he 'loves' Gutts.

Ok, it answers my question very well. I really thought, it's just me thinking like that. ^^
