We, as a community, lack it. So I ask you, why is this so? Is this site nothing but a bunch children having a shouting match at some semi-famous webmaster, or are we people with arguments that can be afforded respect? Do we even want respect?
This post will seem cryptic to some of you, others may dismiss it entirely, but I ask my questions in earnest and beg you consider them. Most of you have seen both sides of the argument. Tazmo is this, Tazmo is that and then Kane is this and Kane is that. So I am going to make one major assumption, one that could disqualify everything I say. I am going to assume that the majority of people on this board are on Kane's side of the fence and that they believe that Tazmo has done something wrong. You may ask me what side of the fence I stand on and to that I can only reply that I am a cynic, and naturally distrust both arguments. My personal quarrel with Tazmo was his use of ANBU's fansubs without credit or regard to them. I have a high level of respect for them, and its members. (Asunder, Tora, Crustol, Bakashinji, Torgan, the former member Starduck, and yes even ChronoCross, despite all the arguments that surround him.) The fact that their group despised Narutofan for it's use of their subs led to my despising it, initially. (Going as far as placing a swear filter over www.narutofan.com on their forums for instance.)
Anyway let me cut to the chase. I want to know, from you, the people that use the boards, what you think is better. Legitimacy and legitimate arguments, or infamy through false arguments. Do you think it would be better to actually achieve something, and prove Tazmo guilty, should you truly believe it, or is it better to simply lay down libel and slander in jest and play pariah for your own personal enjoyment.
