Default LIST OF SCAM SITES - That make you pay for anime/manga

    http://www.narutofan.com - FOR SURE
http://www.directmanga.com - Also known as 'The new nF'
http://www.animenuke.com - Limits to 1 dL per day unless you upgrd. acc.
http://www.animesp.co.uk - Same as nuke but w/o the 1 dL Limit **SITE RECENTLY DIED ALONG WITH ITS SERVERS AND WHAT-NOT**
http://www.omganime.net/ - Formerly Baka-Ost.net... Crappy qual. anime and yet they claim they have over 80 series to dL if you sign up for premium

I know its not a big list and all, but it can be helpful at times... :/ If you have any more sites you wanna put up here that are pretty much scams, feel free to add on to this post!

All these sites up there pisses me off. Those idiots got those anime from free fansubbers and making them available thru donating and making their own profits. I'd rather buy the DVDs then donate to them

I cannot agree with you on that. No, I'm not defending their unethical methods (especially NF), but from my narrow understanding of economics, it is considered to be justified.

Simple fact: they use the money to pay the server and what-not. no money, no server. they need server and the big bandwidth allocation (or so they claimed) because they offer direct download service.

not all people can use bittorrent, IRC, DC++, kazaa, or other p2p services. example: student behind firewalls. they need the direct dl service to get their anime and manga.

buy the original? not all countries have the original stuff in their market. example again: what about a student behind a firewall in Nepal. (it's just an assumption, sorry if there's really original anime in Nepal, I don't know about that).

order the original from other country? well, not many people have the financial capabilities to do so. this argument also valid for the p2p users - they can just order it instead of dl it from the net.

they insult the fansubbers? yes, that is correct. they might make profits out of other people's work without giving something back in return. but, it is also the case for some fansubbers - they insult the mangaka (or anime creator) by subbing licenced anime. It's not really a blame game - just accept the fact that no one is entirely right or wrong in this matter.

I know that most probably I will be screwed by this, but I have said what I believe in. I do hope that those who disagree with me can give constructive arguments to counter my opinion.

Lastly, pardon my broken english. I've tried my best to make it presentable.

    "http://downloadanime.org/" or the "http://danimeftp.com/", maybe?
They use torent (http://downloadanime.org/) but they offer FTP download for $5.99 per month (http://danimeftp.com/).

    Sorry if I'm wrong ^_^

And why do most fansubbers write explicit in their releases "Our releases are FREE Fansubs, not for sale, rent or Pay for Download-Pages"
If you wanna donate, donate to the subbers, who do great work and don't throw your money away for pple putting up sites for their own benefit.

Even if you can't use BitTorrent, there are enough DDL-Pages around, where you can load without signing up, not mentioning private uploads at public-fileservers...

    Here's how I see it.

Paying money to dl anime/manga isn't necessarily wrong as long as it is paying for server costs. And if there is extra, as long as its a small sum to compensate the site's creators for time devoted to their site.

What I think is wrong is when people take advantage of unlucky saps who can't torrent and rip them off. It's hard to tell which category sites fall in I know and maybe I didn't explain too well but you get my point I hope...

Yes, you're damn right on this one. NF and directmanga falls under the scam category because they charged more and they don't really explain the stuff. example: NF didn't explain in the NF-Plus page about a 5GB limit per month, and they have this very small font underneath that really explains their stuff.

as for danimeftp.com with it's $5.99 access, I think it is reasonable because - they offer unlimited amount of download even though only one connection per user. I've tested the dl speed, around 12kbps for me. So roughly 28.96GB of anime if I dl without stop for a month, that's around 4.83GB per $1, I can say it's justified (as compared to NF - around $5 for 5GB).

But if there's even a cheaper one, or a better quality one, then danimeftp can be considered as a scam too...
