Currently, when I want my weekly dose of manga, I mainly go to mangareader. I used to be a huge fan of mangahelpers, but I guess there's no much point to it now, as far I'm concerned anyway...
Thanks for the feedback. I've got the next few days pretty booked with other coding projects but late next week I am going to take a look at those sites and see if there is not something I could possibly clone for us here at ST.

My pleasure Not sure if it actually helps, but if it does I'd be glad, it's been quite a time I've been lurking here !

About mangahelpers, at first it was one of the fastest to host scanlations, and I believe it was thought that way, as a platform for translators and scanlators. It was quite ambitious I think, and now there's very few (if any) scanlations, possibly due to legal issues... Just guessing.

Also, something that troubled me about the index of ST, there's no search feature. Or none that's got sufficient exposure for me to see it. When you're a lazy ass such as myself, even scrolling gets tiring ! (kidding ofc, but really, I like search fields)

And last, I want to thank you for ST, since it has always been a very informational forum, and I have always loved coming here to read everyone's opinions on the latest chapters. Thanks !

I will work on a search feature. It will have to take back seat to some of my other projects (since they earn money), but I will try to get it out within the next month.

Hmm. Out of curiousity, I checked the NF site and sure enough they really still seem popular (with 10k likes etc). I have to agree with the "eye-candy" assessment (aka colors and graphics) as a major part of the reason why. Also, they have embraced all the new social media (i.e. facebook and twitter) and have incorporated it into their site. Oldies like me who don't have a facebook or twitter account don't really care BUT the younger ones (who are more active, and simply "more" in terms of headcount) can't live without facebook and twitter as these has evolved into being the new forums of the present and coming years.

That said, I think ST will have to step up to the game and make a handful of adjustments to attract life back into the forum. And I'm saying this based on what happened to the other forums I used to frequent (evilempire, mangarebels, esthetique) and because I don't wanna feel sad again :-/

PS: Even if Naruto finally comes to its end, people will still ask for it for a long time to come (kinda like the Harry Potter books are still up for merchandise 5 years after it has ended) AND based on what I know of of Tazmo, he'll think up of something to keep his site up, running, popular, and lucrative.

But once you conquer the world, then comes the hard part.
What kind of world would you create?

I do not understand this Twitter/Facebook stuff. I mean I actually work, how can people spend all day on those sites? I mean what happens after you die and you look back upon your life and see that half of it was wasted telling people on Twitter you are now on the toilet and that kind of garbage? Anyways, are you saying that we really need to tweet more and post on facebook and start getting our community more connected via those social networking sites in order to survive? Any other suggestions? In about a week I am going to have more free time so if I have to I will get more social media accounts setup, but only as a last resort.

    Thank you for the feedback.

Maybe I can help explain it since I was facebook user for years, most of facebook loyal user generally because 4 reason attach to one of facebook social network application, they want to find gf / bf, sale their product or looking place for express themselves (for real politician / artist or politician / artist wannabe). About connect social network to stoptazmo is a good idea since it can simplify register progress and introduce this site to facebook and twiter generation.

There is for sure truth to the fact that linking Facebook to ST would allow more people to visit. I am not sure that many people would login, take a look at our forums. Most only come to download and then leave I hate to say it. People want to read their manga and then return to their life. Manga is not something you can really build a community out of. I know other sites in some cases do it, but the truth is I lack the skills to do that. I can post manga and code something but that is it.

Yeah, it right. I think what lack in this forum was an admin with community builder skill and not all of us can do it, that why we must open up more to attract new member. Maybe some new member who have that skill wiling join as admin and help ease your burden. If that not happen, at least you already try it.
