This site collects donations and charges for a premium section. So, the only way this site has the right to make fun of Tazmo is if the premium section payment pays ONLY for the bandwidth the premium section uses. Otherwise, the owner of this site is profiting the same way Tazmo is. I agree that the owner should profit from the site, but not the way Tazmo does. For example, mangatraders-dot-com is payed for by donations and advertisements, and the owner makes a profit.

I checked the announcements section for information, but found nothing. I have been away for about a year, so I probably missed something. So, what's going on?

I believe the issue with NarutoFan was that certain series were only available in the premium section, and that the people were therefore being "charged" for "free scanlations" (that is, the scanlators didn't want people to pay and received no benefits from it). From what I understand, a premium account here gives forum priviledges and faster speeds, not the manga themselves. Additionally, Kane isn't making a profit on this site - he's losing money despite the donations and premium account.

Oh, and that isn't the only reason scanlators themselves are pissed off at Tazmo. But just to clear things up, from my understanding, that's the difference. It's not that NF has premium accounts, it's the way those accounts are set up.

Let me assure you there has been no profit. The last two months I think I lost somewhere around $150 or so. This month it looks like we are going to reach our goal and hopefully I can recover some of that ~$150.

If someone donates or subscribes to our premium service all that money goes towards the ~$590 that we need each month to pay for our servers, bandwidth and hosting for our site. We don't seperate things. It might not seem like it but it takes a good amount of time to collect all these manga chapters and keep things updated and I really do wish I could make a profit and would be happy to make a profit if I could.

Digital_Eon made some good points. Premium or not everyone can download any manga chapter and we have few ads on the site and no popups for now, though in the future we might have to restrict Anime downloads to some extent if so many people keep downloading them as they really are sucking all the bandwidth we have.

I think that clears everything up but if not let me know.
