Default Trying to escape the tyrant's clutches...

Recently, various scanlation groups have been including Anti-Tazmo messages with their releases. Being a member, who happened to download a particular manga not hosted by NF elsewhere, I was dismayed by what I read. Apart from the fact that he apparently steals releases from IRC without permission, the whole sticky "charging for manga" legal issues came up and I knew I had to cancel my subscription with that Tool.

Problem is, I still have been unable to do so. The bastard has it all set up to make the whole process rather difficult. The following email I sent him pretty much speaks for itself:

"On September 21, I posted the following message in the PLUS! "support" area:

"Hi - I'd like to cancel my account, and terminate all payments, but I've noticed no options available to do so. It is my understanding that once your subscription expires, you are supposed to renew your account, so the obvious solution would be to let the subscription run out. However, I have never renewed my account - or been asked to - but payments continue to be withdrawn every month. I would like to cancel all of my subscriptions with this site, and would appreciate your assistance doing so. Thank you."

It is now September 28, and I have yet to receive a response. I'm sure this is a simple matter, and I don't know why there is no specific option that I can find which indicates "Cancel Subscription," or - if there is - why it's so hard to find. Moreover, since I have made the request, another payment has been processed for another month. This was done on the 23rd - 2 days after the request was made. I'm not asking for a refund, but I did not want to renew my account at that time, and it automatically did it for me anyway. My next payment is scheduled for November 5th, and according to my "subscription status" (Current - renewal payment should be automatically made by PayPal when due.) this will apparently occur on its own, just as it has continued to renew itself this last year without prompting me to authorize it.

I have searched for a way to do this on my own, with no luck. What I find funny is that when I go to my account status page, the only options I may choose from involve paying more money. Yeah. That speaks for itself.

My goal: Cancel my subscription before the next payment is processed.

My reason: Many other sites offer exactly what you offer, but for free.

    My email: MadameRant@gmail.com"

Will post further correspondence, but in the meantime, what the hell? Has anybody else run into this problem?

Hmmmmmm.... I havent, since I never subscribed to that site, but I've heard other people talk about the same problem (I.E. cannot cancel subscriptions). Just google 'narutofan cancel subscription' and voila, you get someone else in another forum talking about his attempt to cancel his subscription too.

Needless to say, you're not the only one.
    Innocence proves nothing.

Bell I challenge you to find as much updated manga in one website with as fast servers as narutofan. you basically pay next to nothing for probably like 900 mangas and narutofan has insanely fast servers. I could download over a megabyte per second on there when i had my subscription.

big deal if he doesnt give credit. its not hurting you bell.

BTW THE MANGA PLUS SERVICE WOULD BE CHEAPER IF THEY DIDNT HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SERVERS.

I dont like tazmo but the amount of manga they have all on one site is amazing and they have it all organized by letter unlike stop tazmo.

It is a big deal to groups who go a long way to obtain and process scans so you can read them in normal form instead of clicking the jpeg and the translation separately.

BitTorrent/IRC is just as fast, and it's free.

Ok, first of all, why the hell do you need one megabyte download speeds for manga? For movies maybe, but for manga?

Oh, and you're an idiot because you're paying 8 dollars a month for something you could get free. And not giving credit is hurting people, in fact, it's hurting people so much, that high quality scanlation groups don't want Tazmo to host their mangas anymore. Like blud and MS don't use Tazmo anymore, any guesses why?

Actually, many of the larger manga series are several hundred megabytes in size. So 1mb/s download speeds are actually quite desirable.
