Recently, various scanlation groups have been including Anti-Tazmo messages with their releases. Being a member, who happened to download a particular manga not hosted by NF elsewhere, I was dismayed by what I read. Apart from the fact that he apparently steals releases from IRC without permission, the whole sticky "charging for manga" legal issues came up and I knew I had to cancel my subscription with that Tool.
Problem is, I still have been unable to do so. The bastard has it all set up to make the whole process rather difficult. The following email I sent him pretty much speaks for itself:
"On September 21, I posted the following message in the PLUS! "support" area:
"Hi - I'd like to cancel my account, and terminate all payments, but I've noticed no options available to do so. It is my understanding that once your subscription expires, you are supposed to renew your account, so the obvious solution would be to let the subscription run out. However, I have never renewed my account - or been asked to - but payments continue to be withdrawn every month. I would like to cancel all of my subscriptions with this site, and would appreciate your assistance doing so. Thank you."
It is now September 28, and I have yet to receive a response. I'm sure this is a simple matter, and I don't know why there is no specific option that I can find which indicates "Cancel Subscription," or - if there is - why it's so hard to find. Moreover, since I have made the request, another payment has been processed for another month. This was done on the 23rd - 2 days after the request was made. I'm not asking for a refund, but I did not want to renew my account at that time, and it automatically did it for me anyway. My next payment is scheduled for November 5th, and according to my "subscription status" (Current - renewal payment should be automatically made by PayPal when due.) this will apparently occur on its own, just as it has continued to renew itself this last year without prompting me to authorize it.
I have searched for a way to do this on my own, with no luck. What I find funny is that when I go to my account status page, the only options I may choose from involve paying more money. Yeah. That speaks for itself.
My goal: Cancel my subscription before the next payment is processed.
My reason: Many other sites offer exactly what you offer, but for free.
My email: MadameRant@gmail.com"
Will post further correspondence, but in the meantime, what the hell? Has anybody else run into this problem?
