Narutofan.com Problem & Poor Business Practices
I already posted in one of the threads here about this so if you've read it..you've seen my story.
I signed up for narutofan.com plus! after years of just visiting the website just to peek at manga or a quick look at character info whatever. Nothing big. So when I wanted to DL some licensed stuff a while ago that was really old I realized very quickly that it would be a pain for me to take the hours it would take to find the BT links & yadda yadda.. & wait forever for seeds...etc..so I thought okay I have money I'll $5 to sign up & quit it later when I'm done.
Well push comes to shove I want to cancel. No button no nothing. No page on how to cancel or anything on the FAQ or anything. Hmm. I find this odd but I think okay there's an e-mail I'll write them about it. No reply after 2 weeks. So then I set up a plus! support thread request since they don't allow you to ask these very questions in the forums (odd hmm? I believe something fishy is going on there) & it is conveniently deleted when I check. Not by myself but obviously by some admins or higher up.
Odd? Yes. Illegal? Quite posibly. So finally I google narutofan.com cancel subscription (which btw, when you sign up..it is conveniently checked for you.. & if people blow through signing up...they wouldn't even see it) & hmm...lo & behold I'm not the only one being blown off & having the same problem. In fact, I found at least 4-5 + people posting the same questions & being blown off by narutofan.com mods who told them basically they were stupid in even asking the question when the forum wasn't for those concerns & directed them to the BS plus! support section where I was ignored.
Well... & I am assuming these few people were the ones who actually posted & only represent a small fraction of those with this same problem... well..then we obviously have a big problem with the legality of what Tazmo is doing over at narutofan.com plus!
One of the mods was helpful & told the person to cancel via paypal (why paypal? Not narutofan.com? Odd again!) & directed them to find the subscription which by the way is completely obscure & difficult to find via paypal's navigation system... & cancel it. I did finally do this but .. I am still very angry!
1) Narutofan.com should have a faq on how to cancel. Every other freaking website I've been on has this option even for deleting your profiles & crap like that. If not they should answer any e-mails regarding this question & if they want to save a workload..post an faq. How hard is that?
2) I suspect the staff at narutofan.com are benefitting from those who do not check their bank accounts as I do. They are benefitting from those who ignore an extra $5 charge a month to their account indicating they are subscribed. The subscription checkmark was so small ...I believe there are many who blew right through it not realizing they were subscribed. & I am betting that the staff benefit financially from ignoring the many requests to cancel subscription because they want the extra $5 from god knows how many members who sign up.
3) I find it very odd that the forum mods are told to blow off any requests for support for plus! accounts. I find it very convenient they are told to direct us to the nonexistent 24/7 support threads (which by the way don't work very well).
I googled the problems I was having at narutofan.com & I realize that there are a lot of legitimate concerns about the business practices at Tazmo's site. I believe my problem was small in comparison to some people out there. There are others who had false charges on their accounts (possible especially since Tazmo now conveniently takes your Visa charge directly if you'd like....hmm...which I didn't do & thankfully only did through paypal). THIS STUFF IS ILLEGAL. False charges? Yes. Making it impossible for someone to unsubscribe an auto charge from their account? YES very illegal. Am I going to get a refund for that extra month I was charged while figuring out how to cancel my darned account? I doubt it. & I won't bother because it's just a measely amount of money but seriously...
I don't give a darn if Tazmo is a wife beater honestly. I do give a damn that he is practicing business in this manner. & because of this I sent an e-mail to paypal urging them to look into this matter & telling them of my numerous problems cancelling. I am also considering sending an e-mail to BBB to at least have some longterm documentation of these problems.
So there you have it. Do not subscribe to plus! on that website. Do not give them ANY of your bank info. & if you have had problems send messages to paypal & the better business bureau & other consumer advocacy websites. Thank you for reading this! & if you need help cancelling..
go to paypal.com. Go to history. Find your old transaction. Click on detail. Click on the top blue word where it says something like transaction for #S_____ followed by lots of #s. That is your subscription # apparently. Now you can scroll down & cancel. That's how you do it. Thanks for letting me post my grievances. I am trying to get the word out there since I obviously didn't know about this before I signed up.
Cancelling NarutoFan Plus Account if you didn't...
call this Number: 1-888-596-9279, they are a 24 hour service. call them anytime and there will be someone to help.
this is the customer service number for the billing company narutoFan Plus uses to charge you, if you used a credit card/debit card to get subscription. CCBilling is a legit billing service and they will help you cancel the subscription.
I hope this helps others out, as I had to get the phone number by contacting my bank.
NarutoFan: Rip Off City... Futher Clarification
No, "NarutoFan Plus! Support" is a blog type message forum you access from the Control Panel in your Plus! account. It is not part of the NarutoForums, which I, too, have a membership to. I'm pretty sure I've been subsidizing that "free" service with my paid membership to NarutoFan, as well, so I guess a preemptive "your welcome" is appropriate to insert here. I definately deserved to be thanked by everyone using the NarutoFan site for free, because it is not "free", I am paying for it for you. One assumes you have not been a NarutoFan Plus! member (paying customer of the NarutoFan website) or you would understand the impossible process.

Tazomo does not respond to messages sent to his icon in the membership site, althought there are about a thousand posts on it. I can't believe all of the hostile posts from all the free riding dum-dums defending Tazmo and directed towards complaining paying customers. We are the one's paying for the whole thing, children! How would you like your bank account to come up overdrawn, with kids to support (statistically speaking: that means most of you kids reading this) because good ol' Tazmo has taking your hard earned money from you when he's not supposed to, and doesn't have permission to? Then Daddy and Mommy can't feed little NarutoFan Baby, 'cause good ol' Uncle Tazmo's stole the money again. Now do you kids get it? When he steals from Daddy, you don't get allowance that week, boo hoo hoo!
Children: Quit griping at us for complaining to Tazmo about being ripped off. You have no right. We are the one's who paid for NarutoFan, and when we're gone, so's NarutoFan. Tazmo is not Jesus, nor is he Naruto's grandfather or something. His dog is not Pakkun. He has never once bought Naruto a ramen bowl an Ichiraku. He has probably never watched Naruto. He is not sharing the money with Naruto, Masashi Kishimoto, Toshiro Masuda, Jump, nor jack. ANBU would be on Tazmo like stink on Taz if he were in the Leaf. He'd be spending a little time in the vulcano with Mizuki and pals before Tsunade exiled his sideshow backside to the Field Country!
