Our traffic has dropped a lot, and there is less activity on the forums but still some people around. We are doing the best one could expect from a site that has resolved around having 500gb+ of manga to a site with 0mb's of Manga.

And how are things for you personally? You always mentioned how tough it was running this place from your own pocket. I'm sure the people who are still around are curious as well.

I suppose it'll be nice if there were more posts and activity, but to be frank, I've noticed major drop-offs in almost every forum I used to regularly visit. Granted it could be that the pre-facebook era people just don't have time anymore, or that people sorta moved on from BBS communities, which is a shame. I used to remember BBS communities that has been around for years on end, with online community events and such, I suppose that kinda thing just doesn't happen anymore, what with social media and all, which I don't care for. I do like reddit, though.

People really have moved on from all the BBS, the issue is most people don't want to register on a hundred different communities and have to keep track of their logins, most people want to be on a single place, facebook, check their groups, inbox, wall and be done with things. Pretty much every BBS out there has experienced a huge drop in traffic. I've seen threads talking about the same thing all over the internet, on some of the largest forums out there. I'm amazed that forums that used to have like 1k members online now only have 30 at most. The world has changed and I'm not sure a place exists for BBS in the modern world anymore I hate to say it. The real thing about BBS's is there are too many and they are not convenient to use, I have accounts on perhaps a hundred forums, of which I only have time to check perhaps 3-5 a day. The only reason I see to be on a BBS is if you have a site to promote via your signature, since it can help to drive traffic to you. There seems to be a lot of people who disagree with BBS dying out, but if it was only one particular forum I might agree, but not when it's basically internet wide. I think that is why companies like IPB (makes of IP.Board) make tons of modules for their forums, since they understand that stand alone forums are dying out.

Now that I've stopped having to pay for those servers, the drain on my pocket is gone but it's left me with a lot of debt that I'm having to slowly pay off. I guess in a manner of speaking that's why I kept the site going for so long, figured it was my best option to pay off the debt but it became clear to me that everything I spent was a sunk cost and that I had to rationally look at this site, the members and how many donations were realistically coming in, and I had no choice but to determine that it was not as highly valued as I thought since there were very few contributions.

Now that I've closed this site and it no longer requires so much time in updates, I've moved onto other projects I prefer to keep separate from this site. I've got a tech blog going, have an adult network that is helping to pay the bills, trying to work on building Android games (Real pain in the ass for a single person), and try a whole bunch of things hoping I might hit it big with one of my new ventures. One thing though is that all of this stuff is much easier than running ST, and there are not many expenses, a small hosting account vs many servers. The most important thing though that I've gained is my time, I see all the work I'm doing as being a large investment that is paying off, I did not really see that with ST.

Yes, been playing with Unity 3D and without any game engine, but that is mostly going to be a side project and I'm only working on it a little each week. It's hard to build a game on your own and I have not yet fully figured out what my game is going to be exactly or if there is a real way to profit in the long run. Google Adsense is bringing a little money each day from my sites so that is a game changer right there. Trying to think of some other ideas for sites I can open, seems E-Cigs, Health Care, Debt and other related fields are the sites to focus on to bring in the big bucks so I am working on how to enter those markets. Some of those sites have keywords that can net a publisher $10+ from friends who are already into those related fields. I told them a single click is more than I make income off ST in an entire month. So right now mostly focusing on Web, then I'll hit mobile and gaming.

    About gaming.
I've been playing and studying this web based game called Edgeworld from Kabam for two years now.
is kinda like mixed with original starcraft and Farmvile and heavy dose of Micro economy shit, which have ruined this game beyond any levels.
check it out if you are interested in making money (not the fun way) in games.

yes it's hard on your own to build a game, since you don't know how most stuff inside works
also check out the Kenta cho his open source projects if you're interested in SHMUP games

    Pron business?!
Happy to see you're alright, but it's shitty that you have so much money to pay back because of this site It's really like you paid the manga for the people who were unable/not willing to pay for it...
Hope your projects/plans work out and that you'll be making the big bucks

I'm not too familiar with all the games out there so never heard of Edgeworld, and I just took a look at https://www.kabam.com/games/edgeworld. It seems to have some decent graphics but not sure how I could make money off the game, I assume by trading items. I think for the most part I am going to try to make money by content generation, or by creating a game with a micro-economy to bring in cash (The micro-economy would be reasonable, so it would not force people to buy every single item).

One reason I am heading in the Unity 3D direction is because it's so easy to buy graphics, then I can take care of the code behind the scene. I've never taken a look at Kenta Cho's code before so I pulled up his (ABA Games) source code and it seems he wrote everything in D, from scratch. I'm not too happy looking at his code, hard to follow in some cases (Bad choice for variable/function names, etc). A real pain in the ass method of creating your own game without a game engine. The thing that worries me is I've heard that if you go that route your work is basically considered useless if you want to use it for showing off to potential employers since most of them use professional game engines such as Unity3D, Unreal or their own.

I never thought of the fact that I might be paying for the Manga that everyone else refused to pay for. I'd say that it would be true to an extent, I did rack up a lot of money on my CC, but I guess it's a good thing that I ended things before I owed too much more money. Thanks for the well wishes on my other projects.

The great thing about the Shemale market is there are so few sites out there dedicated to just them, at least when you compare to normal porn (Guy/Guy, Girl/Girl, Guy/Girl, Guy/Guy/Guy/Girl).
The problem with finding quality actresses/models, really makes building a quality site hard. I can't tell you the amount of time I've had to spend myself looking without much luck but I rather not go into that. There are a lot of scripts out there, that have reduced the barrier to entry in the Adult market, owning an adult site is like having a web proxy/flash/hosting site, anyone with $30 can have a domain and a site/business ready to go so content is all there is to separate one site from another. It's probably one of the niches that is something attractive to still enter from a monetary perspective.

Got a lot on my plate so I have to just hope everything pans out.

Great hearing all of your comments and feedback!

    is just an camsite
well he just owns the site and domain names
the models come from another company which he's a partner of

mastering Unity or personally like me coding your own engine from scratch
actually this is the easy part
the hard part is to get content or your digital assets for your game projects
vice versa, 3d modelers/artist have the same problem with implementing physics, engine and other stuffs
