For students like me, who didnt have much money to spend (not to mention premium filesharing sites), this site is really a gift from heaven.
Because this site is too good to be true, I tried to contribute to this site by posting in its forum. That time was fun.
And then, later on college, I dont have really much free time for mangas and online live because of study and work, but I gave a look on this site sometimes and this site has much member and much posts than when I was active. I became an inactive member.
Some years later, there are many online reader sites, and downloading has been much easier than before, because of steady scanlation groups, a lot of mirroring (and torrents), and bigger bandwidths in general.
Then not so long ago, I came back to this site, looking for Pastel (which is relatively hard to find) and noticed that this site is far more quiet now. So sad but true.
I guess cutting the manga download because of financial problem is a legit reason to cut the bandwidth. We had fun in here, but we didnt really care about the dark side of this site maintenance. We cant really force you to bleed, while we have nothing to give in return.
I really hope the best for you and this site. Thanks for your tireless effort these years.
Thank you very much for your feedback and continuing to return to the site to check on how things are going.

Last month I slowed down on the updates but also, I have a huge backlist even last month of the series I needed to update. There are/were just too many of them and I could not spend all my time doing it. At this point, there are not going to be any further updates. I still have to remove all the series we have posted and change the main site.

It's a matter of time and money and for the most part I could not find someone to take over things so I will probably just be checking on the site once a day or to prune spam. If I remove the manga you can at least post on the forum but you are right that ST will never be the same. If the site was able to make money I would have hired one of those virtual assistance people from a 3rd world country. The way I see it though there is not enough demand to keep the site running if the site can't break even and so that is how I based my decision. Thank you though for enjoying this site and wanting it to remain open, that means a lot to me.

    Default Thank You

I just registered to say this:
Thank you for running this website, I fell for manga in here, it had a large variety and was easy to read.
It was good while it lasted.
(Only made the account now because I started reading about 3 months ago, sorry)
So thank you for your time and hard work!

I saw some people wanting the manga safely backed up ... Have you consider BakaBT?

Thank you for signing up and visiting ST. No need to backup anything since the manga that is here can be found on many other sites.

According to my profile, I joined around October 2005 but I remember I only signed up to the forum so I could do something or rather as I remember I had been coming to this site to look for manga to download way before I signed up.

Thank you for all your work over the years, as this has been my go to site for my manga needs for all these years and it's been a great help to look for and find manga I could not find at my local comic book shop because they haven't been licensed or translated or I couldn't find online easily because I don't go on irc (even though I'm old enough to remember what the hell that is).

Totally understand your situation and wish you all the best.

Once again, thank you for your time and effort in keeping this site going all these years.

You have been my great supplier of all my manga needs over the years. I'll be sad to see you go. But, have you considered running ads on the site? It might help.

i've been also around this site since 2007 i think...
this is the first site that provided me and my sister the experience to read manga like naruto..

i'm honestly very sad to see this coming.. but i also understand because you, sir, have a life too like anyone of us.
i'm not that active in forums that much, tbh.

but, you, sir, is the most diligent, generous and true fan among, if i may say so.

i hope for you the best, and i know you can; because you're able to take care of site like this
that helped many fans around the world know and read certain manga
that are most probably not even available on our respective countries/location.

more power to you and hope that you gain more money in your job <3

I've been here since 2005 and this has been one of my favourite (if not favourite) go to sites for manga. I remember way back I used to visit every single day and read through the forum topics/posts (I remember some great discussions/debates) and look for new manga... Those were the days!

I'm sad to see it go but it'll definitely be fondly remembered!! Thank you for all that you have done creating and maintaing this site!
