Sucks to end up like this.
also thinking about an Android app
with monthly subscriptions?
I am really sad to hear this, I can't thank you enough for everything you've done, I used this site since 2006 but not regularly, I didn't know about the financial status of the site before, I have an idea though, why don't you launch a kickstarter to fund the site, you can make the first kickstarter campaign to fund the first 6 months or so and then more people will know about the site through kickstarter and more donators will come to the site, and if you don't have the time you can make it so that the funding campaign will cover the expenses of a new site administrator, I don't think there's anything to lose if the kickstarter isn't successful, as I said I can't thank you enough for everything you've done here, I wish you the best in your future whether you decide to keep this site or not, take care and good luck.
I was also thinking about making an App for ST, would not be too hard but the issue is money. I can't see ST users paying much, especially with PayPal terminating us. I mean I right now I am accepting BitCoin and Gift Cards, and so far this month, 25 days in, 0 donations. That is the reason I am looking at exiting this site/manga community. I need a site that generates money, not consumes it.
Maybe converting this site to something like mangafox? using advertising to fund the server?
or you can sell the site via flippa.com, I've seen some manga reader site got sold for USD 7.000+
I'll be sorry to see this site go. As others have mentioned here though, it has been coming for a while.
Thanks for all your hard work, time and money that you've invested here over the years, Kane. Good luck for the future.
what about we uses cloud for the contents?
like dropbox, we don't even need hosting companies to host files anymore
