    Default Server/Donation Status [August 2010]

As many of you already know we have been having server issues and we are currently out of space on our server. The end result was us asking for donations to help cover the cost of additional hardware expenses.

We currently do an easy 100mbps all day long. This is over 32,000gb’s of bandwidth every month.

Right now our server expenses run close to $700/m. The ads that we have on our site only pay for about ~$100 on a GOOD month. We have tried almost every sponsor out there, and we are left with little options. Paypal seems to be our best bet at accepting money and allowing us to continue to grow.

We really need to get people donating. We spend a large amount of time collecting updates and it would be really great for people to donate whatever they can, even if it’s only $1.

I run this site as a hobby and as a student I cannot afford even a $1 loss each month.

I am going to post what we need for this month below.

    August 2010
    Total Server Expenses: $690
2x Servers + Site Hosting + Server Management
    Total Ads Revenue: ~$100
    ----------------------------------
    Need to Collect: $590

    Total Donations This Month: $597

FUNDS NEEDED: $0 MORE FOR August
I will update the total amount of funds we need as they come in. If you don’t want to see us launch a premium service, make sure to encourage others to donate.

HOW DO YOU DONATE? CLICK ON THE PAYPAL BUTTON AT THE TOP OF THIS SITE!

No there is not. Paypal only. If you want to help though, post about us on your Twitter/FaceBook/MySpace account and help get the word out about us, that would help as much as a large donation.

Hey Kane, how much doyou get through subscriptions? Or is that $15 all there is?

We currently have at least as of 1 minute ago 60 Premium Members. Keep in mind though that regardless of whether or not you are a premium member it does not matter as all non-mark (PP Account Owner) related transactions are counted as donations. One major issue we have is a lot of premium members terminate their subscription either right away or a week later so I am not sure how many we can count on to renew this month as you are still a member until your next billing date. Either way the money helps but I really need to make sure we at least break even.

The last few months I've been spending more time on this site leading to more traffic and donations and I would like to thank everyone. Hopefully at this rate we will reach $590 this month.

The $15 that was shown next to "Total Donations" was what we made on the 1st up until the time I recorded our donations. As of our last donation update yesterday we are at $90 for this month. I think at this rate we will reach our goal for the month.

Anyways, keep donating, let's break even and right now I am taking a break after ~135 Manga series update and then I hope to get another 50+ Manga series added later next week and will work on putting our manga viewer back online.

You now have one more premium member (I was before but I thought the site had died and so I left).
[I]Damn, I wasted 20 minutes reading every post in this thread only to come to one conclusion.

I took a "logical and critical reasoning" course once, and my favorite tidbit of knowledge was: "You cannot have an argument (logical one) with an illogical person."

But then I realized that we can all consider everybody else as illogical and cut down on the pointless debates.
