    Default Server/Donation Status [September 2008]

As many of you already know we have been having server issues and we are currently out of space on our server. The end result was us asking for donations to help cover the cost of additional hardware expenses.

We currently do an easy 100mbps all day long. This is over 32,000gbís of bandwidth every month.

Right now our server expenses run close to $700/m. The ads that we have on our site only pay for about ~$100 on a GOOD month. We have tried almost every sponsor out there, and we are left with little options. Most of the time I am the one paying the remaining server bills, which are normally between $200 and $400.

No longer can I afford to do this. We have never made much from donations but at this point we really need help. We have been having a very hard time breaking even and last month we came up short.

We really need to get people donating. We spend a large amount of time collecting updates and it would be really great for people to donate whatever they can, even if itís only $1.

At this rate I cannot really see the point of continuing to operate the site if I continue to have to shell out extra money for everything out of my own pocket. I run this site as a hobby and as a student I cannot afford even a $1 loss each month.

I am going to post what we need for this month below.

September 2008 (Note: I need to update our expenses due to our server move and other things, but for now I am keeping the amount we need to collect at $550)
    Total Server Expenses: $700
    Total Ads Revenue: ~$100
    ----------------------------------
    Need to Collect: $550

    Total Donations This Month: $554.25

FUNDS NEEDED: $0 MORE FOR September
I will update the total amount of funds we need as they come in. If you donít want to see us launch a premium service, make sure to encourage others to donate.

HOW DO YOU DONATE? CLICK ON THE PAYPAL BUTTON AT THE TOP OF THIS SITE!

    'lo there,

I recall PayPal having some sort of thing where if a donation is less than a certain amount/the person donating is overseas, they take a percentage of the donation. I can't for the life of me remember what that was all about now, though, so can you let me know? This is just so I know that whatever I'm giving is going directly to ST.

Paypal takes a certain amount as a transaction fee. There is no way around this, and it applies to everyone. It's not very much though about $.50 per $5 or something around that.

    hi. a question.

I'm using a system called bux.to ... maybe this can be helpful... We can join our efforts...
but, it is hard to reach the amount of money needed to make the donation.

I want to donate, because i really enjoy reading manga from here

I will be very sad if you have to close this ToT

    Greetings from Chile... awaiting reply.

A pay per click solution is not going to help us. We really need donations, it is our only option, I understand some people can not donate but for those who can I can only hope that they do.

    I don't have a credit card, i don't need it.

    But if I don't have one, i can't make a donation u_u

if 15 people use buxto, probably you can make money every month.

well, that is an idea... i don't know any other way to help you with the site u-u

And I really like this site, This is problematic ToT

I'd donate, but the only service that allows payment through debit is paypal, and it only applies to the states... I can use it for online shopping, but not for transactions other than that .

If you know of any solution to the problem, I'd be glad to donate.
