Server/Donation Status [August 2008]

As many of you already know we have been having server issues and we are currently out of space on our server. The end result was us asking for donations to help cover the cost of additional hardware expenses.

We currently do an easy 100mbps all day long. This is over 32,000gb’s of bandwidth every month.

Right now our server expenses run close to $999/m. The ads that we have on our site only pay for about ~$350 on a GOOD month. We have tried almost every sponsor out there, and we are left with little options. Most of the time I am the one paying the remaining server bills, which are normally between $200 and $400.

No longer can I afford to do this. We have never made much from donations but at this point we really need help. We have been having a very hard time breaking even and last month we came up short.

We have over 835 manga series on this server, we have updates posted every other day, and each update takes a good few hours. I hope that as a community we can pull together to reach our donation limit each month. We are currently out of space on our server and need $400 extra for a new drive, and in June we made $6, and in July we lost $43. We really need to get people donating. We spend a large amount of time collecting updates and it would be really great for people to donate whatever they can, even if it’s only $1.

At this rate I cannot really see the point of continuing to operate the site if I continue to have to shell out extra money for everything out of my own pocket. I run this site as a hobby and as a student I cannot afford even a $1 loss each month.

Hi I don't have PayPal or credit card but love to donate. What country do you reside in? I live in Australia and if you are the same I can donate through internet banking.

Hi! I've been visiting this site for aaages and I thought it was about time I donated for the good work u've always been doing. Unfortunately I haven't got PayPal, but I'll try doing the surveys n stuff. Hope that works somehow.
