Site News [04/23/07]

I just wanted to update everyone on some of the things going on here.

The first thing is, I know many people have been complaining about server speeds and being disconnected from the media server. The quality of the bandwidth has dropped and we are no longer able to reach 100mbps, the most we are able to push is 50mbps, and for the price we are paying is no longer acceptable. The most we have been able to push is 50mbps for the last two months and is the reason I have not added anymore series.

We are finally doing something about it, by moving to another DC. We need to move by the 1st, and in a few days I will pay for another machine and begin moving files over to it so we can get away from FDC.

The 2nd is we are no longer accepting donations, the person who was accepting them, decided he was no longer interested in doing it, because of tax purposes, so things once again will be paid for by myself, but hopefully once the new machine is online and speeds are better and new series are added, we will be able to get more traffic and increase banner revenue. Thank you to everyone who has donated these last months, it has helped us out very much.

aww that sucks about the donations thing. I donated a couple of times. Well I hope the site stays strong.

Anyways, I'm sorry to hear that the money is coming from your own pocket once again. You gotta find a nicer friend to do all of that paypal stuff for you... =D

What the heck happened your site has gone from great to scary man is super slow at the moment never before had to wait over hr for downloads is it because still changing them over or this hare going to be from now on?

Anyways, I'm sorry to hear that the money is coming from your own pocket once again.

Things are slow right now. We have not yet finished transfering data to our GIGE machine because FDC is too slow, so instead of paying $2000 this month, I decided to just drop the other GIGE so it's now a 100mbps shared and it's not able to handle all the downloads.

Tonight things should be better.

Tax issues... hope he didn't have an audit. Isn't there any other ways we could donate? <EDITED> but I can't imagine much revenue from these ads alone.

I am trying to find someone to setup a paypal account just for us to use. In the past we have had to use other accounts from other people while they use them and it's caused us a lot of problems keeping track of donations, but we will have to see how things go.
