I loved Mawaru Penguin Drum, but as much as I thought the excessive amount of time trying to get Ringo to hand over the diary was a low point of the show, I didn't think it killed it overall. The last few episodes, it's odd realities, and it's lack of explanations did more damage in my opinion. Still, it's shitlessly creative, and deserves the High Priority spot way more than Bakuman and Natsume IMO.
Also, I'm surprised Kamisama Dolls is Medium. I loved the hell out of that show but I didn't think it was particularly special.
That show was terrible. Trying to make an awesome HG character with some kind of fabulous stylish flair was really dumb. Everything about that show screamed cliche. The trying too hard was obviously intentional, and a failure. It was a huge disappointment after having watched X'amd.
MPD lacked proper story telling and was drawn out far longer than it needed to be. A bunch of the episodes were very poorly written and does not deserve any spot at the top. I've only ever watched the first episode of Bakuman and never touched Natsume so I wouldn't know.
Isn't that what medium is? Not particularly good nor not particularly bad.
Anyway, as for the talk about Usagi Drop goes... I was smart enough to stay away from the manga while watching the anime so I fully enjoyed what was presented there and say it deserves a spot up at the top. The manga's second half may have sucked donkey nuts, but the anime was great(with the exception of the first episode being kinda meh).
All very nice!
It may still be worth a watch once the show is done but I'm honestly not sure just yet. The last 3 episodes have been really offsetting and I'm not sure what the show is really about anymore because it felt like after the 12th episode it was over but suddenly there's a whole new season of the show. It was obviously done so on purpose but I feel the execution was not the best and wasn't clear enough.
Atm, it can either crash and burn or recover itself. Not sure if you want to invest your time into it or wait until the whole thing is over and then try it out. I'm already what seems to be half way through so I'm just going to stick it til the end. I hate going this far and then just stopping even if the shows end up being terrible. I mean, not all shows are perfect so I'll give it a chance.
I watched Stein's Gate over the weekend. Not a bad show. I quite liked it, but I don't know if I'd put it that high up.
There was an episode about midway through the series that I found a bit shoddy. It made me question the intelligence of all the characters and lose a fair bit of sympathy for them.
Anyways, it recovered well.
