Some anime out already!!!!
Blood C: A bespectacle Saya?! Well, it has all the CLAMP-elements, i.e. klutz heroine, twins that remind me of those in xxxholic, etc. I wonder if I will see any feather/wing thing which is another CLAMP trait. There's one hot guy, who is yet to be introduce! My sis and I will wait for another 2-3 episodes before we decide if it's worth taking.
Ro-Kyu-Bu: For you loli lovers, this is a MUST SEE. Nothing much to comment for the first episodes.
You're gonna watch Blade right stubbs? It's by marvel. So you're gonna watch it right? right?
I saw ep1 of sacred seven. I can see it's gonna be an action flick. As long as the action is good I'm on board.
Honestly, probably not unless I hear good things about it. I'm kinda animu'd out atm. Nothing particular is drawing me in to watch anything. If anything, I'm perfectly fine with just waiting until it finishes so I can watch stuff from start to end in one go.
Btw, it's not being done by Marvel. =P
I feel like I watch anime more cause it's my hobby and less because I actually enjoy it.
damn you got me there.
I kinda know the feel. Any novelty of watching anime surely wore off years and years ago, but I find myself more and more selective about what I watch. I used to be able to watch barely watchable stuff for the art, comedy, action, moe, etc, but these days I review shows on the whole package and it's becoming increasingly difficult to find good shows.
Anime is pretty much just a replacement for TV to me (since I don't watch much regular TV), but like TV it's difficult to find things interesting enough to keep watching.
I've seen the first ep of Blood C, and while it doesn't seem like it'll be on my list of favourites, I did like it and will see how it develops. I just hope that CLAMP doesn't go overboard with the "visual poetry" stuff.
I also tried Ro-Kyu-Bu! but didn't get further than half way through the episode. Apart from the Moe and the lolicon aspect being a real turn off, I just found the show to be dull, with uninteresting canned characters, lacklustre voice acting and no real vibe for what this show is about (although that's probably an unfair assessment when I only watched half of it). It's as if it is only being Moe and cute for the sake of it and the timidity of the characters just feels forced.
I don't really get the appeal of lolicon shows, but from a critical perspective the show fails to inspire. I think it will only appeal to die hard lolicons looking for some fantasy fuel.
I still enjoy watching anime, however I scrutinize it more than I used to. The more I know about something, the less I tend to enjoy it. I partly blame video games cause that's what it all started with for me when things started going down hill and shit just hit the fan with everything else I was enjoying at the time.
Sure, I can't watch brain dead fanservice in all forms of the word anymore(action/pervy stuff/moe shit/etc.), but I still enjoy a good show/movie. I'm pursuing the biz and I enjoy watching all types of movies so it's more of a matter of quality and diversity for me. There's exceptions, but that's generally how I feel about shows and movies today.
I partly blame the recession and the moe craze for killing the industry nowadays, but it's fine for now since there's still quality stuff coming out every once in a while. Plus I'm more busy now than I was before so I can wait it out for now. There's also probably a lot of hidden gems that I might have missed that I never knew about before.
Anyway, I'll probably give Usagi Drop a chance. I don't see anything I else I'm particularly interested in.
Crunchyroll is still being coy about whether they'll be carrying it, I see. Sheesh.
Today is always the most enjoyable day. Just ask Yotsuba.
Mawaru Penguindrum was so fucking good. Just as expected from Ikuhara.
No. 6 seems really interesting but I can't tell if it's homoerotic or not. haha
I liked it up till the incest, even though I didn't know what the hell was going on
