    Exclamation Anime Suggestions Please!

I've just recently watched Cowboy Bebop and it was possibly the best cartoon programme I've ever seen, the music and voice acting was superb despite the fact I watched the dubbed version.
I've never really been into anime, but this cartoon has lead me to believe that good anime exists! Is there any other anime that is quality around the same level as this?

Here's some other anime I have watched and disliked:
    Dragonball (dub)
    Gundam Wing (dub)
    Tenchi Muyo (sub)
    Naruto (sub)
    Death Note (sub)

Childish things, but I borrow the DVDs off a friend.
I would prefer a series rather than a film if possible!
    Thank you for your cooperation!

Actually I'm not into cowboy theme and anything similar, so may be my suggesstion isn't good enough. But, I heard that Trigun is a good anime of such genre.

However, if you wanna try some alternative genres, I recommend Sora no Manimani (it's about astronomy), FMP: Fumoffu (action comedy), Elfen Lied (this one is extremely bloody & there are some nude scenes, so don't watch it with someone underaged), Love Hina (romance comedy).

It's not necessarily the cowboy theme (I didn't think Cowboy Bebop was about cowboys, does the cowboy theme mean something else?), but the quality of the story.
I read some of Love Hina and found it a bit tedious and repetitive, is the anime dissimilar?
I'll ask him if he's got any of those other shows though, cheers.

    Edit:

I watched the first episode of Sora no Manimani, Trigun and Elfen Lied online. It seems I've already read Elfen Lied and the anime wasn't any better, Sora no Manimani just wasn't to my taste... Trigun seemed a bit better though I prefer my silliness in smaller doses! It seemed quite similar to Dragon Ball.
Thank you for trying regardless, I thought I was going to be overwhelmed with people advertising their favourite anime, it is good that people think about these things.

The dub for Cowboy bebop is the best version.

    It seems like you are pretty new to anime so I would recommend just doing a quick google search for top anime and your likely to find something or, you know, you could just look at the other couple anime recommendation threads in here >.>;

Aside from all that here are a couple anime's I thought were pretty good:

Ghost in the Shell (cyborgs, robots, existentialism, and all sorts of other good stuff, also a very good dub)
Patlabor (mecha crime drama, it's pretty rad)
Legend of Galatic Heroes (if you like space opera then this is for you)

    "Grapes and grapes!"

    The anime version is shorter,
also they made the story about Shinobu more reasonable.
I myself found Shinobu's rather weird in the manga version.
(How could she admires a guy who lied to her, seeing her naked, etc.
just because he knows her birthday & gives her a gift?!)
As for other differences, there are some chronological re-order.

    ==============

Ah, I just read about Cowboy Bebop at wiki^^
So, it's about a group of Bounty Hunters..

Then, why don't you try watching Black Lagoon?!
I think it's pretty similar, but the time setting is just around our current time.
The story is about a man who visits south east asia for a bussiness trip.
Unfortunately, he's kidnapped by a group of pirates during the voyage.
He ends up joining that pirates because he's abandoned by his company.
(The company sends a group of mercenaries instead of rescuers).

Well, they're pirates, but are actually pirates of our time.
They don't look for treasure, but go for bounties & sometimes work for mafias.

    Thanks for this!
    bamboozler:
I'm not completely new to anime, just anime which I enjoy!
I will watch Ghost in the Shell, I've heard good things about that and it periodically plays at my local cinema. I'll watch it when it next shows, is the sequel as good?
Unless my friend has Patlabor (I doubt he does), I don't think I'll watch it, according to Google it is a film and I would rather watch a series. Though the synopsis seems good.
Apparently I don't like Space Operas! Legend of Galatic Heroes was rather similar to Gundam Wing I thought- very slow paced and dull action scenes. Sorry, I would have quite liked to enjoy it.
    Ryuutobi Motarou:
I just watched the second episode of Black Lagoon, it seems promising and I'll probably watch some more and see if my interest wanes.
Are there many comedic moments like the bar scene in the first episode?

    Edit:

Ah, never mind this, I can't find anything as good. I'll give it up. I'll still go and see Ghost in the Shell when it's next on though.
    Cheers for your help guys!

I know exactly what you should watch. Wolf's Rain. No particular genre simlarities with Cowboy Bebop, except the quality of the plot, character development and presentation. Give it a go, you might get hooked.

Michiko to Hatchin is a good entry to the outlaw genre. Well worth the viewing.

Thanks for this, this is decent and fun and I am strangely hooked. I skipped out on episodes 15-18 because they seemed to be merely 'flashback' episodes, was this wise?
Though I have given up looking, I am still open for suggestions. Especially if they are as good as this one.

I'll watch Michiko to Hatchin after I am finished with Wolf's Rain.

I was thinking that you might like Samurai Champloo or Darker than Black.

Samurai Champloo is more of a samurai (duh) action comedy, with fair amounts of absurdity and drama. A weird mix between feudal japan and pop colture that might entice, given the oppertunity.

Darker than black is more episodic. This is a more grim anime, but it too has it share of loveable characters, even some wacky ones. It's greatest strengths are probably the characters and the narrative. Animation is also top notch.
