Summary
Adaptation of Sega’s simulation role-playing game.

In a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s Europe divided in two by the Empire and the Federation, the Empire has set its sights on invading a small neutral country called Gallia—situated in between the two great empires. Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federation’s 7th Platoon are engaged in the battle. (MAL)




Man, without it's original style from the PS3 game it's lost some of it's luster if you've ever played the game. The show still actually uses some of the models though I think, like the tanks for example are straight out of the game, maybe... or they could have just redone them. Either way it's not as appealing as it's video game counterpart in the visuals department but the core of the story seems in tact iirc. Although they do try to do a type of pencil shading and somewhat pastel/water color look so at least that's a plus. We'll see how it turns out, might not be too bad.

everything with Valkyria in its name sounds good.

QFT. The game was fantastic (even though its take on the persecution of the jews leaves a terrible taste in the mouth).

You have to admit that it's sort of funny though. Even while playing the game it felt like a typical anime approach to it. xD

Actually I was "WTF is a darksen?" I was trying really hard to figure it out, was it a type of race, was it a social or political thing, where they some kind of alien species? The someone reffered to them as "dark hairs" and I imediately turned my PS3 off and went and did something else.

Does anyone else find it awkward how she throws a grenade and brutally kills/maims several people, and her reaction is "Yes! I did it! Yay!"

^And the rest, its hard to tell what this anime is. Is it trying to be a war anime or is t some highschool slice of life series? The amount of time they spent fucking around having pleasant converstions when the enemy were approaching.

I like the principal character. I don't like how in the game, the girl is in charge of the watch, yet she just stands there as the 2 men under her fire their guns and fights.

I didn't have a problem with her celebrating when she got the target. There's been lots of games where the guy using a weapon celebrates each time he does a kill, right???!

Luv the game. in fact watching some of the episodes made me play the game over again. gotta get all the personnel info for every soldier @_@. Anyone know when the 5th episode will be subbed and available?

Its already out. My god this series is starting to piss me off. They've got no military sense whatever, for a start they never shut up with their inane bickering. And when Alicia's team were approaching the flank, Faldio starts fucking about with nuts, somehow he seemed to ignore the fact that they were out in the open and just yards away from the enemy. Then Alicia thinks she has grown a pair of imaginary balls and just runs straight at the enemy, and then no one thinks it a good idea to give covering fire! Almost every one seems to shoot from the hip and everyone just stands still out in the open while people are shooting at them.

I don't know if I can bare to watch this for 26 episodes.
