Ur right, I think the target demographic for this anime is pretty young, early teens at the most. They make the clever strategies from the game into a joke, its ridiculous how they could have possibly pulled off that last battle with alicia running right into sniper fire. Actually this series makes me feel more appreciative of the game. At least in the game the dialogue was mostly before or after battle. not happy chit chat while throwing a grenade at enemies -_-.

I'm gonna give the anime a few more chances....after all i do like seeing the characters from the game come to life. Less Faldio and Alicia though, i know its foreshadowing but its boring.

Yeah, I wonder whether any of the animators even played the game, one of the first things you learn in the game is that its a VERY bad idea to end your turn with your troops not behind some sort of cover.

Its a crying shame that the animation company can't do things more seriously, there is a lot of potential, but nothing is made of it.

Just watched Valkyria chronicles 6. I'm starting to warm up to this, they are spending a lot of time showing all the interesting characters in squad 7. However, Alicia is easily 100 times more annoying than in the game. Everything she does in all the episodes bugs me. She was cute in the game but here she feels like she is uptight. Its interesting that the episode i like is actually one where there is no fighting and no progression in the story lol.

All the characters grate on me, in the game they had character, in the anime they seem to tick every box in the list of annoying anime character clichés.
Why the fuck would largo bring up vegetables out of nowhere, in the game he loves vegetables because he grew up on a farm and he has a passion for growing them, he tends to make reletively well thought out but slightly humourous comments about them, in the anime it seems like he is loaded up on sugar (ironically) and is absolutely nuts for them, that scene killed his entire character.

The anime has its good and bads. If you beat the game and like the storyline then i suggest you watch the anime just to see character development get animated. Also the anime deviates slightly from the storyline like how battles go and such there are little difference.

Okay. so it deviates ALOT from the game. they kind of sort of kept the most important points.

i dunno. i still have hope that this will turn out pretty good. It's one of the few anime i wont wait till its completely finished to watch but instead pick up as it airs.
