BTW, most anime coming out nowadays are now following an episodic format. Its also true for this season of FMA. I wonder how far it can go, especially that this season is going true to the manga, which isn't even finished yet...

If that's a way to make the difference from the first series, it should be a good reason for it, otherwise we'll see a lot episodes of that kind... wasting time...
The Scar incident was closer to the original manga, but still had a few changes. But without the semi-filler episodes that preceded this event in the first series Scar's character seems rather shallow.
Remember that his back story comes a little bit later.
And I thought it was alright. Had a few laughs. Roy cracks me up.

I think winry's got new voice, and it doesn't really suit her.
Its a shame the new series is only going to have 26 episodes while the 1st had 50+ Production wise Bones skimped a lot.

Actually the target is around 50 episodes. That's why the plot's being rushed around with minor characters, places and scenes being left out. I can't understand why they wouldn't give it at least 70-80, more episodes means more money, right?
Yea i have to say this anime should have been slated for at least 3 seasons. they are rushing a lot of comedic moments that really gave it a nice touch. Then again the pacing of the anime seems to fit with the storyline, like your being spiralled through to the end. I generally like this version more than i dislike it.
They made Winry's skirt shorter, i'm sure of it (this'll get more people to watch for sure lol)
