Episode 2 had the right amount of blood and gore. Man, they didn't tone down a thing when the showed the imperfect human.
This episode clinched it for me. I now know this adaptation is gonna be excellent.
^No way. The gore level was definitely toned down. I hated the scene where the brothers got torn apart by the rebound; instead of having body parts ripped off they got turned to confetti as if it was some virtual reality computer game. And there was hardly any blood compared to the original series or the manga.
Looks like Bones are trying to attract a younger audience this time.
Yes. Confetti sucked pretty bad - but actually it was close to the manga.

What about the daughter-into-chimera thing? was it in the manga? coz i can't find it.
Yeah it's still toned down but it's much closer to the manga now. It was a good episode.
Its quite early in the manga:

Thank God for Scar.

It seems like the series is taking off just fine, but I really wish they'd have just continued rather than redo things. I liked the art style of the first better too, oh well.
More likeness to the manga means more fun
Just watched episode three. I think this season is a really toned down version of the first season. I remember the Lior incident with the fake priest had more angst to it.
Well, I guess the first test to the greatness of this season will come from the Tucker incident. If that episode fails, then I guess I'll have to cancel watching this.
Watched episode 4. The plot is somewhat rushed even when compared to the manga. I remember Arakawa spending more time on Ed's deeds as an alchemist(Yoki, more interaction with Roy and co etc). I don't understand why this series would waste an entire episode on filler(Ice alchemist) but condense canon material like this. Is it a shortage of running time? How many episodes will it be?
