I still can't believe Kaiba won... hmm... really not my type of genre... *shrugs* whatever...

I'm calling that list into question, seriously.

Only thing I watched last year was Kannagi.
But rated for fanservice? Does not compute!
Unless all others are very innocent.

If you read the description on what fanservice you'd get how it probably won.

Awards are given by the amount of votes a series receives during Polling by the community. The nominee with the most votes by the community wins. Although voting could be skewed for many reasons. community members may have not have seen all the nomininees and just voted on limited information or they may have used underhanded methods like creating multiple accounts to push their favourite series to win as many awards as possible.

That's why they also added a Jury Pick Award, although I'm not exactly sure how Jury pick is decided, I'm assuming it's similar to a Judges award for the veteran community members to decide.

From what I've reed in the forums over at anime reactor there have been alot of debate about the awards, especially for clannad winning the slice of life award.

The series which has the best character(s) development throughout the entire series. On one hand, "Character Development" describes the actual change/progress that the protagonists of a series undergo until the end - on the other hand it also describes how believable, deep or true-to-life the characters of a series are.

From the nominations I've only seen Kurenai, Bamboo Blade & Spice and Wolf.

Hmm... I dunno maybe there wasn't any particular stand out Character Development anime...well at the very least I don't trust myself in judging for best character development lol.

All I find is:
"Generally includes things like panty shots, bouncing boobs, shower scenes and skin, but can also be incredibly exaggerated explosions, giant robots and extremely cute girls and animals. They don't affect the plot, but can provide additional entertainment."

STOP TAZMO ANIME OF THE YEAR AWARDS... and some AMV guy could post it as a video clip on youtube lol... it'd be interesting.

over at anime reactor between 200-500 people vote in their polls... I'd be happy if we could get at least 50 people to vote... and I mean legitimate votes...

I'm sure about their 1st poll anime wards polls for 2003 though
