Tell me if there's anything more I should put on here, as I'm not familiar with such events.

All I have to say is:
Hell Yea! Taiga is really high on the popularity list.
She's already gotten a lot of character development since the nominations.
If the anime finishes off with a bang, she'll definitely win the contest!

Index has fallen out of good graces, as she doesn't even play a role in the anime anymore.
I wouldn't be surprised if Misaka Mikoto beats her.
EDIT: Looks like Index will be knocked out the first round.

And as a Negima fanatic, I'm glad that Evangeline is in it.

Note for those who might be unfamiliar with it: The International Saimoe League seeks to vote for the most moe female anime character of all time, unlike the Saimoe tournaments in Japan, Korea and China, which only vote for the most moe character in the anime that came out that year. However, the winners of those annual tournaments are automatically guaranteed a spot in the next year's ISML, where they will be competing against previous winners of last year's ISML which were carried over.

There are also empty slots where people can nominate characters to be included, so characters from past anime can still get a chance to compete against the fresh newcomers of each year. Nominations have ended already, and so the best 64 are now facing off in league-style battles. We're now entering the first round of the league. After the league has ended, a post-season double-elimination tournament will be held among the top 16 to discover who will be the most moe character in direct face-offs.

Aiska Taiga vs Tohsaka Rin.... Hmmm Difficult decision, which Tsudere is worthy of the vote :P.

Well, the Aquamarine Period is over.
No idea what that means.
I should really read up on the rules and procedures XD

Woo-hoo! Tomoyo won! Excellent start. And I really like her dress.

Basically, there are 7 league periods... each period, the contestants fight against 9 other contestants. Whoever wins the most votes within that period wins the jewel of that period. Winning of a jewel guarantees entry as a candidate for next year's league (provided the overall win-loss ratio throughout this year for this contestant was greater than 50%).
