Is Akira confirmed dead? I don't see what the point of handcuffing him would be if he was already dead anyway.
Anyway, the stage is set and the battle lines are drawn. I think Kilik knows that Ikki will be the one to defeat the Soras, so he's removing him from the conflict for the time being. Maybe he'll end up sacrificing himself to get the Wind Regalia for Ikki, who'll end up using it to win? That's thinking a little far ahead though. For now, I guess we just have to see how Ikki and Kazu in particular react to the new burdens that have been placed on them.
No, Kilik doesn't seem like the sacrifice myself for the greater good type of character. He is too strong for that he'll probably take out sora himself. But knowing Ikki he'll want to help. So it'll be like Sora and Nike vs Kilik and Ikki.The Past vs the future regailia owners. But that'll be way later on if it even happens at all. But one thing we know is that kogarasumaru has been rendered useless except for Agito, because Kazu is a mess and is too much of a wimp to contend with Genesis, and Buccha just isn't at that level yet. These guys need a time skip desperately after this arc is settled and over or at least a DBZ training chamber.

I don't think SF and Kogarasumaru will collaborate to take down Sora and Nike, thought both will fight Sora and Nike.
