Manga's better, read it, enjoy it.
But like a lot of people have said, give the anime a try. It's not really good, but it's also not bad.

Bullet Tooth Tony: You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.
Reporter on Titan Maximum: Sasha is there any connection between your poor album sales and the fact that it sucked?
if u dont want to read the first 100 chapters, then watch the anime. Both are good imo, since the anime gives you how they sound like and their music and what not. Manga goes into more detail, but imo do both. Read all manga chapters till the most current and watch the anime.
oh man i feel like a douche not reading the manga 1st. Yea im re-reading the 1st 100 w.e. ch. and the begining is so different. Like the way he gets his AT's n his Skull Sader prob. ugh ok im gonna go read some more lol
The only thing not fucked up in the anime is the first couple of episodes...everything after that is streched...they removed too many details from the manga...+ the story gets cut off...
now the manga on the other hand...It's a work of art...a masterpiece... in my opinion Airgear owns bigger than any other manga .
The story is very interesting and doesn't bore, the character design is flawless, the humor is great ( hooray for the Ecchi-ness ) and the art style is damn near perfect...including the battles...

i jst finished reading the all the chapters from trick 1 to where ever Devils 33 is. (basically where the anime ends) yea um the anime doesnt do the manga justice. The only good thing the manga does is show the action, it doesnt really show the entire story. Like i learned a couple new things and understand certian things better. Half the time i was like "oooooh" so yea...
MANGA mos def!
the only bad prt of the manga is how a couple characters jst completly vanished like tht buck tooth dude from Bucchas team and that group of 1st years. (not important characters) but they showed potential team members lol
***I was 1 of the many douche bags who saw the anime 1st and started reading from where the anime left off

Why would that make you a douche bag? Don't be so hard on yourself.
^Agreed. What wrong with you guys...acting like it's a sin to watch the anime. :/
It's not a sin...the anime is alright..especially the music...but to truly enjoy Airgear you should read the manga first...
i watched the anime first and then read the manga i wouldnt have liked the manga if i didnt watch the anime first myself... but im just getting into manga as it is cuz all the other mangas peeps recoed to me sayin its way better than the anime n what not were a complete joke in my opinion so it kept me away from manga for yrs
but i think u should watch anime first then read manga but i also prefer animes still since im still a noob to manga stuff but ya the manga does go into more detail overall though w/ everythin
manga is prob better than the anime infact it is but i prefer watchin the animes before i read the mangas myself that way i dont get all butt hurt when it differs from the manga
think of it this way manga fanatics if the manga n anime were the exact same u wouldnt like it anymore then ud bitch and moan about it being the exact same as the manga lol... (no offense meant if taken that way) the reason they change the anime up compared to manga is to give it some difference and not be doing the exact thing 2x
I still think it's about what you watch first. Each medium has its strengths, but what you experience first imprints a kind of sentimental value that makes you want to defend it.
Since Stealdragon was kind enough to upload a batch, I'll probably eventually read the manga covered by the anime, and when I'm through I'll report back on whether there were any eye opening differences that'll change my viewpoint.
