Thread: Air Gear vs Tenjou Tenge Art

^ well it's his style. It's developed a lot over time now and i will say it in bold, oh great is one of the best mangaka out there, speaking in the artistic view.

Going back to my point, of course his characters are going to run some parallels, it's his style.

^I think you need to read jamie1990's post again...he/she said

"The art in tenjou was absolutely TERRIBLE to begin with and the character designs aren't his best either, Where as the art in Air gear has been very good from the start."

So I pointed out that
1)The mangas were created years apart.
2)The character designs from Air Gear are almost identical to the ones from Tenjou Tenge which he/she said aren't his best.

And of course some characters are going to looks the same, but overall as a manga the art is a little different which I believe makes TT a bit better.

i think the main artistic difference between the two is based around their respective themes, i mean when i saw air gear i recognised the art work straight away but if you take the two series as a whole there are noticable differences. ag is more 'street' if that makes sense with more of an underground, grffiti thing going on. where as tenjou tenge is more of a mythical, violent theme (violent in a stylistic sense, as in things are quite harsh with death and blood being central themes,this makes more sense in my head ). on characters there are crossovers but that makes sense 2 as there are only a finite amount of characters u can make using the same style, before they start to look similar. but vphamv i dont get the kazu/masataka comparison, when u said character design did u mean their appearance or their personalities? cause i dont really see either

^ appearance imo. They have some few familiarities, like hair that goes down like a good boy, smaller frame. Actually the personalities are similar too. They are both more of the quite rolled person character with a ton of potential.

true but kazu is more of a hmm whats the word...little bitch , where as masataka kicks ass and doesnt really need someone to keep re-affirming his existance, and i get that their both kind of quiet but it seems to be for different reasons and they (imo) react to things differently. that being said i do like kazu but i much perfer masataka, and on the whole looks thing i get what ur saying about the hair but i still dont see any particular resemblance, maybe its cause kazu always wears a hat .

edit: i agree about the whole hidden potential thing but in tt and ag its hard to find someone who doesnt

I, personally, like the art in airgear more. ^^ to me it seems like that manga has more detail, not to mention the awesome poses.

more detail? I'm not sure on that one...

like the pictures when madoka first came out to fight bob...those poses were godly. That the picture of souichiro with the dragon and when he changes and everything...those pictures are of no joke.

Argee , i like TT art more than air gear , if you are following the latest TT chapter , look at kabane sword's stance , awesomeness
