Default Zombie Road: Air Gear reference in Dead Rising?

Dead Rising is a game for the Xbox 360 that just recently came out. Reading up on it I found an interesting Achievement you can accomplish in it:

Apparently, if you ride on the backs of zombies consecutively for 33 feet you get credit for an Achievement the game calls "Zombie Road".

Maybe 33 feet is coming in distance jumping, or maybe it's just a complete coincidence, but as soon as I read that, the first think I thought of was the Devil's Thirty-Thirty that Ikki completed to gain recognition as a potential Wind King. Only no zombies when he jumped.

Anyway it could referes to anything we just happen to connect it with air gear because we know it. But who knows you could always as creators of the game if it was from AG or not.

If you were to treat zombies as if they were pavement... doesn't that just make them a zombie road, regardless of it being an airgear reference or not?

Not to be a dick or nothin' but that's like saying you ride on dirt and you have a 'dirt road' and it's an AG reference just like that.

he's not talking about walking over 33 feet of zombie corpses. he said rising the backs of zombies which would make one think it's more along the lines of piggyback ride. last I heard in dead rising you can get on the back of a zombie and remove it's head from there. either way his whole theory is plausible. I know many game designers who love airgear.

My exact same point. Riding on something in one way or another does not change the fact that you are still just riding it.

I'd also love to see references to said game designers who point out that they love Air Gear. If you can show me documented proof, then I will stand corrected. Otherwise, we can write it off as a simply coincidence.

Wow, talk about an obscure reference. It's possible though, especially since iirc that was the climax of the anime series so for non-manga readers it would have been a memorable moment.

Well the question would have to be did Capcom in america, europe, or japan come up with Dead Rising then take it from there. If Japan, and Air Gear's been out that long (even though i dont think that episode was out when Dead Rising was being made) then yeah its entirely possible. But look up the number 33 and you might find some weird stuff because in numerology theres always weird meanings for numbers.
