Thread: censored name of 666...!!!

Well, I just found out the title changed when I was reading an anime magazine article. To me, "O-Parts Hunter" sounded inferior than "666 Satan" despite the major Western society being Christians. However, we are lucky that the manga remains faithful to its original dialogue and situation.

when i first saw the 666satan title here i was thinkin black and white flaming demons and such, battling over the supremacy of hell. it turns out i was completely wrong and its about friendship, trust and dedication

Yeah...it made me really pissed when I saw this. And I'm "Christian" (although I don't really believe in religion, but that's not the point). Why do people care so much? It's just a name. Yes, it's Satan, but so what? It's not like the manga is about people going around worshipping Satan, and even if it was, so what? Seriously, I agree with Tagger. You can't change the name of something just because you don't like it. People can be so stupid sometimes.

You know I mentioned it to one of my friends, and he made the point (which I find completely hilarious), that if you don't know anything about the series or what O-Parts are, "O" could stand for many different things, including something which I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention here. Lol much?

There are parts of the world that the Catholic Church (and all the Christian churches) still has a lot of influence. My country is an example. I'm catholic, but I don't give a damn about the name "666 Satan", but, if you ask my uncles and my grandma, they would be very upset about something like that. In Brazil, there are a lot of things that the Christians have a huge influence. It's a shame, but, at least, we don't have any war or something like that between the different religions.

But, if you ask me, I still prefer "666 Satan" over "O-Parts Hunter".

What you must ask, too, is that if it was censored, or the publisher just thougt that some people would be offended by the name. So, for the sake of business, they decided to change the name of the manga.
