In chrisitianity satan was a fallen angel so i guess seishi-dono worked this into the manga as well. It would be pretty cool if jio could transform into some sort of angel-satan instead of the beast.
^shamn-king is right,in the bible satan was an angel, infact he was gods favorite i believe, until he did something or other to get kicked out of heaven. so it would make perfect sense to me if jio is somehow able to one day use the angel form of satan. if not ill settle for jio being able to control satan. though i doubt he ever will.
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous?"
Actually, who are you not to be?
Gabriel was one of the archangels to beat satan so....
^ That's true, but pretty much every angel fought in the battle (either on Satan's side or God's) so I don't see how its all that significant. I'm fairly certain Micheal led the angels against Satan.
lol it would be cool if jio could be a angel
but that wouldn't make sences
but satan is believed to be an angel who rebelled against God
quoted from wikipediaIn mainstream Christianity's understanding of the holy Hebrew scriptures, the Torah, Satan is a synonym for the Devil. He is believed to be an angel who rebelled against God— and also the one who spoke through the serpent and seduced Eve into disobeying God's command. His ultimate goal is to lead people away from the love of God — to lead them to fallacies which God opposes. Satan is also identified as the accuser of Job, the tempter of the Gospels, the secret power of lawlessness in 2 Thessalonians 2:7, and the dragon in the Book of Revelation. Before his insurrection, Satan was the highest of all angels and the "brightest in the sky." His pride is considered a reason why he would not bow to God as all other angels did, but sought to rule heaven himself. In Christianity he is called "the ruler of the demons" (Matt. 12:24); "the ruler of the world" and even "the god of this world." (2Cor. 4:4). The Book of Revelation describes how Satan will be cast out of Heaven, down to the earth, having "great anger" and waging war against "those who obey God's commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus". Ultimately, Satan is thrown forever into the "lake of fire" (Revelation 20:10), not as ruler, but as one among many, being treated no different than all the others who have been cast there as well.
(had nothing to do.. =D)
for all of you that talk about satan as an angel:
Satan was called Lucifer when he was an angel
In the early chapters where Jio met Ruby and fought with the Leviathan O-part user (the water gun) he said something like "My name is Lucifer, but you humans call me Satan" so maybe he does have angelic properties.
Back from ban-hood, I blame explosm webcomics
He was also the second command angel, the only angel with freewill and he fell because of trying to become more powerful than God, and took angels with him, which are what we call demons.
He was also the angel of music (Listen to stairway to heaven backwards adn youll see what I mean.
