To quote cooler(at least I believe cooler was the one who said this if not I am sorry) "Chances are that at that point in time Izumi's thought process was to "get the fuck out of there as fast as possible". This is probably exactly what Izumi's thought process was exactly like when he first entered gantz but then slowly realized that part of him missed something, and slowly the Izumi we know now surfaced. Just like how Kurouno went from being a total ass to being at the least a decent person from going through Gantz. Same with his motifs changing.
I'm not so sure what you say is completely accurate. I mean yes I get where your coming from but if Gantz resets them EXACTLY before they get their first injury then Kurouno wouldn't know about the, either 4 or 6, tanaka's he killed in the house as one of the babies tore through his neck. As stated before Katou wouldn't know what would have happened to the onion dad because he was thrown off a cliff and never appeared until after the mission, so using him as an example(imo) isn't that great of a proof point, at least on that particular occasion.
As for the original poster's statement on the suit, are you asking why the suit wasn't repaired?(it's been a while since I have read that chapter so clarify for me) If that is the question, simply Kurouno wasn't injured in that mission. No broken bones or cuts. Thats one of the few missions where he walks away unscathed physically, other than being tired from being scared.
